Head Instructors

Sifu Haw Kuo, 郭浩師傅 3rd Level Technician Sifu Kuo has been involved in the martial arts since the age of sixteen, initially training in wushu and choy lay fut. He started learning WingTsun in 1999, after literally running into the back of an instructor while in college. Sifu Kuo is a private student of his Dai-sibak, Sifu Elmond Leung (4th Level Technician). He also trains under the guidance of Sikung Leung Ting and other Hong Kong instructors when time permits. He counts among his good friends, training partners, and colleagues Sifu Jung-soo Park, the head instructor of Korea, Sifu Alex Richter, the head instructor of New York City, and Sifu Robin Tsang of the IWTA headquarters. As of March 2009, he is the only US instructor to have taken and passed the examination for 3rd Level Technician in Hong Kong.

Sifu Dan Hsiao, 蕭師傅 2nd Level Technician As a child, Sifu Hsiao was intrigued by martial arts but had always thought he was too old to begin. It wasn't until college that he discovered Leung Ting WingTsun. He was amazed at the effectiveness and logic behind the art, and was even more amazed that such a highly-developed system was available for him to learn. His passion for WingTsun was furthered in 2002 when he met his si-hing (older kung fu brother), Sifu Alex Richter. Sifu Hsiao continues his WingTsun education through lessons with Grandmaster Leung Ting (Hong Kong), Sifu Carson Lau (Toronto), and Sifu Elmond Leung (San Francisco). He cherishes every opportunity he has to train with his si-hings and good friends: Sifu Alex Richter (New York), Sifu Robin Tsang (Hong Kong), and Sifu Jung-soo Park (Korea).

Instructors

Marcus Clever 2nd Level Technician Si-bak Clever started his WingTsun career in 1987 under the auspices of the EWTO and his Sifu, Grandmaster Keith Kernspecht. He trained at Castle Langenzell, the European headquarters for WingTsun, and ran a full time WingTsun school in Langen, near Frankfurt. In 2001 he relocated to the United States with his family and has continued his training under the IWTA-NAS. He was awarded the Second Technician Level in 2005 by Grandmaster Leung Ting.

Assistant Instructors

Ivy Yeung 1st Level Technician Si-je Ivy started her WingTsun journey in 1996 in Aberdeen, Hong Kong. Although she already had a 1st dan black belt in Tae Kwon Do, she sought a system oriented toward self defense and found WingTsun. She has trained at the IWTA Headquarter's school on Nathan Road in Hong Kong, where she attained her Primary Technician Level in 2008 under the guidance of Grandmaster Leung Koon. While she has taken time off to raise a family, she has always returned to WingTsun. In the spring of 2008, her family relocated to San Jose, where she now trains with Sifu Kuo and Sifu Hsiao. Si-je Ivy is one of only a handful of women in North America to have attained the Primary Technician Level, and the only one on the West Coast.

Daniel Zwilling 11th Student Level Si-hing Daniel is originally from Frankfurt, Germany, and has trained in the martial arts since childhood. Not satisfied with either Judo or various forms of Karate, he looked for a system suited for real world self defense. As fortune would have it, a WingTsun school opened right below his apartment. From his first trial lesson, he was amazed by WingTsun's simple and effective techniques and has been training diligently ever since. Before moving to San Francisco with his family, Si-hing Daniel was a member of the EWTO in Germany from 2003-2006, attaining the 10th student grade and assistant trainer certificate. He has continued training this fascinating system with Sifu Elmond Leung, Sifu Haw Kuo, and others as time permits.
